Student Edge Wrapped 2023: The Deals, Articles and Competitions Ya’ll Loved this Year

You guys really loved a movie deal 🙌

It feels like just yesterday we were wrapping up our 2022 Student Edge Wrapped and heading into 2023.

But it’s already been an entire year full of great content, new competitions, even better deals, and of course, new members.

2023 has been ‘uge. So, strap in and keep scrolling to find out what Student Edge got done in 2023.

We linked up with some big names in 2023.

Every year, we get to speak to more big names and cool characters. And every year it never gets old.

This year we spoke to professional Racing Driver, Jann Mardenborough on what it was like seeing his story come to life in Gran Turismo.

And we can’t forget when we interviewed the Lana Condor from To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before about her upcoming role as the lead in the DreamWorks film Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken.

Fans of superhero movies will remember when we interviewed Thomas Thistlethwaite, the animator for Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse, about the perks of being an animator.

It wasn’t all about pop culture celebrities either. We also had the chance to chat to gamechangers like Senator Fatima Payman and Founder of the Blue Tree Project Kendall Whyte.

It’s definitely been a pretty star-studded year!

Some of our content went viral – and you loved it!

For the second year in a row we had an article to do with potatoes in our top 5 articles of the year. We stan the potato lovers tbh.

In a non-surprising turn of events, the Barbie x Grill’d collab we tried out was one of your faves and we can’t blame you. And any time we have to eat something for an article, we love it.

But you guys were still focused on reading some educational content and wanted to find out how to celebrate leavers safely and what the updates were to your HECS debt.

You voted on your top brands…and one came out on top.

100 brands. 10 categories. But only one came out on top.

You guys voted on what your fave brands are, and YouTube was the winner!

We found out what your biggest concerns were.

Some of your biggest concerns in 2023 revolved around the world around you but also your time studying.

According to the September 2023 Student Edge Members Survey, three in five young people are most concerned about the cost of living and inflation.

Followed by getting good grades, uncertainty around the future, their mental health and finding a job.

You frothed our deals.

Everybody loves a good deal. But you guys LOVED our deals.

More than 700,000 of you viewed our deals. And your fave deal? Our HOYTS $12.50 GA movie tickets.

Heaps of you were leveling up with a Student Edge passport.

We love helping students get their next job. And some of you were really keen on getting job-ready.

More than 320,000 of you created a free Student Edge Passport to help you build your resume and get your next job!

And if you’re still looking for that summer job, there’s nothing stopping you from signing up for your own passport so you can easily put together your resume to find your next gig.

You guys loved a competition.

A $100 VISA gift card? Samsung Galaxy Buds? Or a copy of Crew Motorfest?

Whatever it was you guys loved entering into our competitions and it shows because 858 won a competition in 2023.

That’s $74,300 we gave away in comp prizes this year.

We helped you earn some extra cash.

As students, we’re always looking for ways to fund our summer activities.

So we hooked a bunch of you up with some Edge Credits (which can be translated into real dollars) when you completed a Student Edge survey.

You guys earned $175,000 just from completing surveys.

And we got to know even more of you.

For us here at Student Edge, there’s nothing better than seeing more members benefiting from our deals, surveys, life tips and content.

This year our membership grew to 1,375,000. WOW. We love it.

If you’re not yet a member (and a bit jealous of all these member perks) get involved for 2024 and sign up now.

Plus, you can follow us on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook and download the app for the full Student Edge experience. We promise it’s worth it.

Thanks for the best year! From everyone at the Student Edge team, we want to wish you a Happy Festive Season and New Year.
