The news is especially sweet when you consider the fact Brooklyn Nine-Nine was cancelled last year by its original broadcaster, Fox, at the end of its fifth season. NBC swooped in to revive the show, and the unexpected sixth season debuted to higher ratings at its new home.

NBC initially just picked up B99 for 13 episodes, before deciding to expand the sixth season to 18 eps.

(The only cost? It seemed Chelsea Peretti, AKA Gina Linetti, was perhaps a casualty of the transition.)

Here in Australia, we haven’t needed to change our viewing habits, seeing how the show continues to air on SBS Viceland and SBS on Demand, with seasons eventually making their way to Netflix.

You’ll have to wait until the end of 2019 for Season 7 to debut, but, uhh, why rush it? Season 6 is still airing as we speak! Now, deliver us more Adrian Pimento, NBC! Give the people what they really want!
