Next Season of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" Just Got Extended By Five Episodes

Season 6 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine just got five episodes bigger.
The sun may have set on our momentary Brooklyn Nine-Nine-has-been-cancelled-induced breakdown, but once it was revealed the show's NBC debut would only feature a mere 13 episodes, a gush of sadness washed over us once more.

Thankfully, NBC has just announced that there'll be five more glorious episodes added to Season 6, bringing the total to 18.
Of course, it's still not the amount of episodes we're used to, with Seasons 1, 4 and 5 having 22 episodes and Seasons 2 and 3 containing 23. The announcement, however, brings us a whole lot closer and at this stage, we're just grateful to still have the Nine-Nine in our lives.

Andy Samberg (a.k.a. Det. Jake Peralta) told Collider what we can expect from the season, which is being filmed right now.
(Some spoilers if you haven't gotten around to watching Season 5.)
"Well, you'll obviously find out what happens with the cliffhanger with Holt," Samberg explained.
"[But] there's gonna be an episode that's focused on Hitchcock and Scully, which I'm really excited about.
"We're gonna see Jake and Amy experiencing married life. We're gonna to continue to see Rosa dating, after coming out, so there's new dynamics to that, continuing to deal with her family.
"I think there's gonna be an episode where Jake and Gina go to a high school reunion because they grew up together. That's all I know."
Sadly, Season 6 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine isn't due to premiere until 2019 but the fifth season will be available on Netflix from 28 September.
