When's Season 8 of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" Coming to Netflix Australia?

We need it now.

You've probably been trying very hard not to think about the fact that your favourite series Brooklyn Nine-Nine is coming to an end with Season 8 (we're sorry for reminding you).

However, you won't be able to ignore that reality forever, so it's time to accept it and get pumped for the show's final season.

A teaser trailer for Season 8 dropped back in May, counting down all the best moments over the past eight years, before revealing what we've all been waiting for: the release date.

The final season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine will start airing in the United States on 12 August.

So, when will it land on Netflix Australia?

Well, this is a question that's a little harder to answer.

Netflix Australia can't upload the season to its platform until it has finished airing on traditional broadcast outlets both here and elsewhere in the world. So, while it will land on Netflix eventually, SBS Viceland actually has first-run rights in Australia.

That means you can watch Season 8 on SBS On Demand, starting on Friday 13 August. From there, episodes will air weekly on Fridays.

If you don't catch the eps on SBS On Demand, you'll risk having to wait a while for it to arrive on Netflix (Season 7 finished airing in the US on 23 April 2020 and didn't come to Aussie Netflix until February 2021).

We know some of you will prefer to binge this one, so we'll be sure to keep you updated.

According to Den of Geek, Season 8 will feature a shortened 10-episode run. Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor Terry Crews also revealed that executive producer Dan Goor had scrapped four new episodes for the upcoming season, following George Floyd's death at the hands of a police officer.

"We've had a lot of somber talks about it and deep conversations and we hope through this we're going to make something that will be truly groundbreaking this year. We have an opportunity and we plan to use it in the best way possible," he told Access Hollywood.

Last month, the cast wrapped up their last day on set with some super wholesome Insta posts.

Will we ever be ready to say goodbye? Probably not.

You can catch up on all previous seasons of Brooklyn Nine-Nine on Aussie Netflix.
