When's the New Season of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" Coming to Netflix Australia?

Toit question. Very toit.
We're sure we don't have to tell you, but Brooklyn Nine-Nine is back baby.
Though the show was originally axed by its US broadcaster, Fox, at the end of its fifth season, the Nine-Nine got a reprieve from NBC, which launched the show's sixth season to its highest ratings in years. Surprise!

But in Australia, you may have excitedly powered up Netflix hoping to find the latest batch of episodes featuring Jake and the crew, only to find... nada.
(Well, not 'nada'. You would have found the first five seasons. Just 'nada' new stuff.)
Here's why.
It's true that Netflix has the first five seasons of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. However, in Australia, SBS Viceland still has the first-run rights to any new episodes of the show.
Therefore, if you want to see this new season, you need to tune into SBS Viceland for fast-tracked episodes every Friday at 8:30pm.
If scheduled programming isn't your bag, you can play catch-up with SBS on Demand, which holds onto episodes for 35 days after broadcast.
What if I miss the first batch of episodes?

You can always buy them from iTunes, which is already selling the first eps from Season 6.
But if you're holding out for Netflix, you'll need to exercise extreme patience.
See, there are 18 episodes in this coming season of B99, which means the show won't land on Netflix until all those episodes have aired... and then a little bit after that.
For instance, the 22-episode fifth season started in September of 2017 and wrapped up in May of 2018, debuting on Australian Netflix at the end of September last year.
And even though S6 is shorter, it's actually starting three months later than its predecessor. However, there's not much benefit to NBC broadcasting episodes during the US summer (which isn't a big ratings period). So, fingers crossed NBC pump the episodes out between now and May. If that's the case, it may mean Brooklyn Nine-Nine S6 will arrive in full on Netflix around September 2019. But that's purely speculation. (And we don't even want to discuss the horror scenario in which they spend the next 12 months slowly doling out eps.)
In the meantime, get it on SBS Viceland, SBS on Demand or iTunes!
Update (20/05): Season 6 has wrapped up, but don't worry: B99 has been renewed and will return for a seventh season. In the meantime, we've reached out to Netflix to find out when exactly S6 is going to land on their streaming service, but no date has yet been made official. Stay tuned!
Update (18/09): Well, September has almost come and gone, and there's no new season of B99 to be found. Plus, Netflix has just released their guide for October premieres, and S6 isn't listed their either. Could we be looking at November now? We shall keep you posted!
Update (02/12): Confirmation! Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sixth season lands on Netflix in Australia on 11 January 2020.
