Uncle-Nephew Duo LMFAO Feuding; Not Sorry For Party-Rocking

Just when you thought 2016’s steady stream of unexpected feuds couldn’t be topped.

Now comes the beef to end them all: That between actual relatives Redfoo and Skyblu, formerly LMFAO.

You may recall that Redfoo and his honest-to-goodness nephew Skyblu dominated the early 2010s with their brand of aggressive party music.

Once their collaborative creative juices were spent, Redfoo went solo, appearing as a judge on The X Factor Australia and releasing the record Party Rock Mansion (which hilariously only sold 144 copies in its first week here).

Nonetheless, Skyblu has revealed he feels left out of the profits (?) in a Facebook post under his new stage name, 8ky.

“I woke up this morning excited to plan the release of my album that has been 2 years in the making, but then I get a call from my lawyer telling me [Redfoo says he owns] all my LMFAO royalties,” he wrote.

(A reminder here that Redfoo and Skyblu are descendants of Berry Gordy, Jr., founder of Motown Records.)

“I really loved you, I looked up to you man, but the more successful we got, the more you wanted control.”

8ky stuck the knife in by mentioning Party Rock Mansion’s epic failure.

“Even if we wanted to comeback you severely damaged the brand especially with your last album."

In the same post, 8ky criticised the music industry for treating artists like “cows and chickens” rather than “race horses”.

Then, the man who helped bring “Shots” into the world said “its [sic] time to put creativity first and the business after!”

It’s… pretty powerful stuff.

Redfoo has only commented on the beef via the following retweet.

These guys need to watch a Fast and Furious movie and learn the true meaning of family.
