Everything Is Being Cancelled Due to Coronavirus, But It’s Okay Cause The Killers Are Coming

They're heading down under in November.

A significant number of events have been cancelled this week due to the coronavirus pandemic. Yesterday it was revealed that the NBA season has been suspended, and this morning it was announced that the Australian F1 Grand Prix won't go ahead.

Plus, if you've been counting down the days until you get to sing your emo hearts out with My Chemical Romance at Download festival, we're sorry to inform you that they've officially pulled out, and the entire festival is off.

Not only that, but Live Nation and AEG, the world's biggest live-event companies, have suspended all events in March. According to Billboard, Billie Eilish, Tool and Post Malone's Aussie tours will be impacted.

It was also announced earlier today that big releases A Quiet Place 2, Mulan and F9 will be pushed back because of COVID-19.

In times like these, it's crucial to remember that everyone's health is the most important thing.

However, here's some news to spark some joy: The Killers have announced an Australian tour for this year.

"We've been putting this tour together for a long time and we are extremely excited to finally share it with you," the band wrote on Twitter.

The tour will take place in November and will be in support of their new album Imploding the Mirage, which is slated for release on Friday 29 May.

They've also released their debut sigle from the album, called "Caution", which features special guest guitarist Lindsey Buckingham, formerly of Fleetwood Mac.

The Killers will kick things off at Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Wednesday 11 November, before playing at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney on Saturday 14 November. They'll then head across to Western Australia to perform at Perth's RAC Arena on Wednesday 18 November, and will wrap things up in Melbourne at AAMI Park on Saturday 21 November.

The Frontier Members pre-sale will open on Wednesday 18 March and will run for 24 hours. Otherwise, general public on sale begins from Monday 23 March at 1pm local time for QLD, NSW and WA, and 11am for VIC.

Now that's something to look forward to!

We'll have to keep our fingers crossed that the band will actually be able to go ahead with the shows in November. Yesterday, Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson both tested positive for COVID-19 on the Gold Coast, and today, the number of confirmed cases in Australia has risen to 191.
