Here's Your First Look at Disney's Live-Action Mulan

Fierce.

Shooting has begun on Disney’s live-action Mulan, and to celebrate, the Mouse House has shared the first official image of star Liu Yifei in action.

Here Liu is, holding a sword, presumably to silence the 8000th consecutive person who started singing "I’ll Make a Man Out of You" at her after discovering she was going to be starring in Mulan.

Yifei, known as Crystal Liu in her home country of China, was cast as the Chinese warrior over 1,000 other candidates back in November.

Despite also being a brand ambassador for Dior, Tissot, Garnier and Pantene, she has starred in local hits such as Once Upon a Time and The Assassins.

Niki Caro of The Zookeeper’s Wife and Whale Rider will direct Mulan, set for release in 2020. The pic will also star Donnie Yen, Gong Li, Jet Li and Yoson An.

Mulan is just the latest live-action adaptation of a beloved animated Disney film, but before it hits cinemas in 2020, we’ll be seeing Dumbo, Aladdin and The Lion King (that’s the one with Childish Gambino and Beyoncé, FYI).

Anyway, here’s that song, because we know you love it:
