Cool Cool Cool: Tony Abbott Just Said Climate Change Is “Probably Doing Good”

This is fine.
Former prime minister and Macklemore nemesis Tony Abbott has told a crowd in the United Kingdom that climate change “is probably doing good”.
According to the ABC, it came from his speech titled “Daring to Doubt”.
Speaking at the Global Warming Policy Foundation in London, Abbott reportedly said “climate change policy… is doing harm,” and that “climate change itself is probably doing good—or at least more good than harm.”
Here’s his justification:
"In most countries far more people die in cold snaps than in heatwaves, so a gradual lift in global temperatures, especially if it is accompanied by more prosperity and more capacity to adapt to change might even be beneficial.”

Of course, we’re sure we don’t have to tell Tony Abbott—who once steered the good ship Australia—that research has found increased global temperatures might actually result in colder winters over time (among other, ahem, apocalyptic consequences).
And we’re certain he’s aware of the fact that our rising global temperature is melting the polar ice caps, not to mention resulting in our increased usage of non-renewable energy sources to power air-conditioning.
Or, maybe he doesn’t, because then he said this:
"Primitive people once killed goats to appease the volcano gods; we are more sophisticated now but are still sacrificing our industries and our living standards to the climate gods to little more effect.”
Abbott posted the full transcript of his speech to Twitter, but it’s probably better to read up on how you can help fight global warming from home instead.
