Who Will Win "Game of Thrones" S8? You Reckon Jon Snow, Not Daenerys

It's been nearly 3,000 days since we first watched Game of Thrones. Now, the start of the end is here.

Game of Thrones is one of the biggest shows to ever grace our 21st-century smart screens, and after eight long years, it's finally wrapping up.

But before it drops on Foxtel from 15 April, we are all keen to predict what in seven hells is about to happen.

The show gained notoriety from the first season after it bucked expectations and killed off who we all assumed to be the main character (R.I.P. Ned Stark).

Since then, it's been a confusing rollercoaster of deaths, near-deaths and straight-up resurrections all in the lead up to winter's eventual arrival.

We decided to ask 292 Student Edge members for their opinions and predictions about the show's victors and villains as well as their favourite moments (good and bad) of the series.

Four key insights became clear in the data and we're sharing this very important information with you in the lead up to the final six episodes. **Yes. There will be Season One to Seven spoilers ahead.**

The finish line for the most-evil villain in the series was tight.

There's no shortage of evil villains in Game of Thrones, but we narrowed it down to the top 10 and asked young people to tell us who they thought was the most evil.

Among the usual evil suspects like Joffrey Baratheon, Cersei Lannister, The Night King and Ramsay Bolton, we threw in some (slightly) lesser-evils like Tywin Lannister and Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish.

However, none could thwart the top two villains: Ramsay Bolton and Joffrey Baratheon.

Bolton received 26 per cent of the overall vote with Joffrey and his mother, Cersei, following behind at 17 per cent and 16 per cent respectively.

Interestingly, when results were split by gender, Bolton emerged as the obvious bad guy for males with 30 per cent of the vote to Joffrey's 14 per cent. Females were more evenly split, with 22 per cent choosing Bolton and 21 per cent deciding Joffrey was definitely the worst.

Two heroes emerge as the likely winners of Game of Thrones.

Set up from the start as the doe-eyed Targaryen who transformed into the fierce, slaying queen we now know, we always figured Daenerys would at least make her way to the eighth season.

The prospect of Jon Snow making it to the finale was less likely, given he was stabbed to death at the climax of Season Five.

Despite this, they've both managed to make their way to the final season, and 24 per cent of you believe Jon Snow will be the apparent victor by Season Eight's end. Trailing behind Snow is his aunt Dany on 17 per cent, followed by all the pessimists who reckon the show will end with no clear winner (13 per cent).

Gender splits show that females think Jon Snow (25 per cent) or Daenerys (23 per cent) could emerge as victors, while males believe Jon Snow (23 per cent) or no one (17 per cent) will win, with Daenerys, The Night King and Arya Stark all on 10 per cent.

Of course, as some might point out, if you think the show will have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

Gender also affects who you'd like to see as the victor at the show's finale.

Despite the genders diverging on who they think will win at the end of the eighth season, they're back in agreeance on who they'd like to see win.

Overall, Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen sit at 24 per cent, with Arya Stark (11 per cent) and Tyrion Lannister (8 per cent) trailing.

After Jon and Dany, males indicated they'd like to see to Tyrion take out the title of at 13 per cent, followed by Arya Stark on eight per cent and Jamie Lannister with seven per cent.

Likewise, Jon and Dany aside, females preferred Arya to take the crown, at 15 per cent, followed by Sansa Stark (eight per cent). The Lannisters were not popular with female respondents, with Tyrion, Cersei and Jamie all on a measly three per cent each.

Your favourite moments are when heroes triumph.

It's not often that something "good" happens to a "good" person on this show, but when it does, you absolutely love it.

We asked young people what their favourite moments were from Season One to Seven out of a selection of the following:

  • Jon Snow's revival
  • Daenerys walking out of the flames
  • Battle of the Bastards
  • The Red Wedding
  • Ramsay Bolton's death
  • Hodor's revelation
  • The Great Sept of Baelor explosion
  • Lord Baelish’s death
  • The Purple Wedding
  • Battle of Blackwater
  • Cersei Lannister's shame walk
  • Ned Stark's death
  • Bran Stark being pushed out of the window

At 17 per cent, Jon Snow's revival was considered the best moment of the series, with Daenerys walking out the flames on 16 per cent and the Battle of the Bastards on 14 per cent.

However, when results are split by gender, they reveal a different story.

The best moment for male respondents was actually the Battle of the Bastards on 22 per cent, with Jon Snow and Daenerys' defining moments trailing with 15 and 11 per cent respectively.

For females, Jon Snow's revival and Daenerys' fire walk both remaining on top at 20 per cent each, but The Red Wedding popped up in third place on 12 per cent, followed by Ramsay Bolton's death in fourth place on nine per cent.

While we're no closer to finding out who prevails, who perishes and who fails to even show up, there's comfort in knowing that we're all in the same boat. Still, no one knows whether winter finally will arrive after years of waiting.

Season Eight is out on Foxtel Now and Fox Showcase in Australia on Monday 15 April.
