Pat That Was Promised: "Game of Thrones" Finale Gives Ghost His Good Boy Pat

Game of Thrones' goodest boy finally got the pat he deserved.

After nearly ten years, 73 episodes and close to 4,000 hours of plot twists (and holes), history's most epic show, Game of Thrones, has concluded.

While it's arguably the world's most popular and most watched TV series, its final two seasons have been marred with criticism of it feeling too rushed and its storylines not making sense.

**Mild spoilers ahead for Game of Thrones Season 8, including the finale.**

But, one of the biggest controversies (okay, maybe just for me) was Jon Snow's decision not to pat his pet direwolf, Ghost, as he sent him to live with Tormund Giantsbane in Castle Black in Season 8's fourth episode.

After receiving Ghost, the runt of the direwolf litter, in the first episode of the series, he's been by Jon's side (when CGI budget permits) throughout his travels around the north.

Just look at that progression.

Sadly, after the Battle of Winterfell, Jon Snow decided to travel with Daenerys' army south to King's Landing and essentially shafted his loyal pet to Tormund without so much as a belly rub and head scratch.

It was pure torture.

Thankfully, after Jon is exiled to Castle Black, he is reunited with Ghost who finally gets the good boy pat he so desperately deserved.

Despite mixed reviews for the finale, there was a general consensus among fans that this scene was one of the highlights.
