When's the Next Season of "The Mandalorian" Coming to Disney+?

It's time to be reunited with Baby Yoda. 

If you haven't really known what to do with your life since Season 1 of The Mandalorian wrapped up at the end of 2019, we wholeheartedly understand. It's been a tough time for us all.

However, that's all about to change because Disney head Bob Iger has finally confirmed when Season 2 will be released.

To recap, the S1 finale of the Disney+ original series ended on quite the cliffhanger. In the final scenes, Mando (Pedro Pascal) hooked himself onto Gideon's Outland TIE fighter and attached explosive charges before leaping off. One of the fighter's wings exploded, sending the ship spiralling into a crash. 

Except, when it cut to the wreckage at the end, the Darksaber sawed a hole from inside the cockpit. Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) emerged holding it and looking pretty damn angry.

How did he get the Darksaber, and why does he want Baby Yoda (or The Child, as they keep frustratingly calling it)? These are the burning questions that everyone wants answered.

Well, fingers crossed we'll have at least one of those questions answered this year, because Iger revealed in a call to investors that Season 2 of The Mandalorian will arrive in October 2020. 

Additionally, he also confirmed the highly-anticipated release dates for the new Marvel/Disney+ original series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision.

Unfortunately, Iger has not released the exact date that The Mandalorian will land on Disney+. But given that filming has been underway since November last year, it looks like it's on track to arrive nearly a year after the first season, which premiered on 12 November 2019. 

Considering Season 1 proved immensely successful, particularly with Baby Yoda becoming a pop culture phenomenon, it's no surprise Disney is already thinking about possible spinoff shows.

Earlier this week, Iger said the company is exploring "the possibility of infusing [The Mandalorian] with more characters and taking those characters in their own direction in terms of series." 

"The priority in the next few years is television," he added. 

As it happens, two Star Wars spinoffs are already in the works, with one being based on Cassian Andor, the Rebel captain first seen in Rogue One. The other centres on Obi-Wan Kenobi, but that has been put on hold due to issues with the script. 

That's a whole lot of Star Wars.

For now, hang tight until we know the exact date The Mandalorian will air.
