This Baby Yoda Statue Will Cost You More Than $500, But Just Look At It

It’s expensive to raise The Child.
We know you love Baby Yoda. But do you love Baby Yoda more than you love your money?
Sideshow Collectibles has created what they’re calling a "life-size figure" of The Mandalorian’s beloved breakout character, which comes to about 16.5-inches in height (that’s about 42cm). But it'll cost you a regular-sized arm and a leg.

Pre-sales for the replica kicked off yesterday at the out-of-this-galaxy price point of $US350 (or $AUD520), but if you thought people would be put off by the cost, you thought wrong: the site crashed almost immediately from demand.
Ikon Collectibles are the Australian suppliers, with a local release date set for 31 October 2020.
However, it’s likely to be even more expensive down under, if Perth proprietor Quality Comics is any indication, as they’re selling it for $AUD650 (which appears to account for overseas shipping costs).
Sound like a lot? Too much even? Basically all your food and rent for a not-insignificant amount of time? Well, sure. But if you take Adam Pally’s word for it, the real Baby Yoda cost $US5 million to make, so technically, this is a bargain.
Then again, maybe you want to go for the 11-inch plush toy from Mattel, which you can pre-order for $US24.99 (not including shipping).
Geez, it’s expensive being a fan of things.
