How to Watch "The Mandalorian" In Australia

Go see a star war.

For many moons, mouths have been salivating over the prospect of Disney’s live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian, even though, umm, details have been pretty scarce since it was announced.

We knew it was be created by Jon Favreau (of Iron Man and The Lion King); we knew it would center on an intergalactic bounty hunter just like Boba Fett; and we knew it starred Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano and… Werner Herzog?

There was also a very moody trailer that gave us more questions than answers.

And honestly, that was enough to whet our appetite. For a while.

But it’s now time to see the damn thing for ourselves and find out what other surprises The Mandalorian holds in store.

Where can I watch The Mandalorian?

The Mandalorian is the big marquee original program on Disney’s brand spanking new streaming service, Disney+. Our friends in the United States, Canada and the Netherlands can subscribe to Disney+ and start streaming The Mandalorian from 12 November 2019.

However, Australians have to wait until Disney+ launches down under on 19 November. But, if you’ve found this article after 19 November, congratulations! It’s available as we speak!

How do I get Disney+?

Well, your best first stop is disneyplus.com/au where you’ll get all the info you need to subscribe. Disney+ will cost you $8.99 a month, or $89.99 per year, and will be available on Apple devices like iPhones, iPads and Apple TV; Google devices such as Android phones and Chromecast; the gaming platforms Xbox One and PlayStation 4; and Roku devices.

Can I binge-watch The Mandalorian?

Not if you’re starting from November. New episodes are dropping weekly on Disney+, so it’s not a full-season-at-once situation like you find on Netflix. By 19 November, "Chapter One" and "Chapter Two" will be available for you to stream, with a further six chapters dropping between then and 27 December. But if you get hooked, here’s the good news: they’re already shooting Season 2.

However, if you’re wondering what you’ll watch after the end of The Mandalorian’s first season, Disney+ is also the streaming home of all Star Wars movies and TV shows, the Marvel Cinematic Universe and basically everything else Disney owns (so: almost all of pop culture). We think you’ll find a way to kill the time.

Once again, you can watch The Mandalorian on Disney+. (Affiliate disclosure: Student Edge may earn a commission if you click that link and buy a product from our partner’s page.)
