"The Mandalorian" Season 2 Is Coming to Disney+ on 30 October

We've missed you, Baby Yoda.

Living without The Mandalorian has undoubtedly been tough. After the first season of the series wrapped up last December, the Baby Yoda memes quickly died down and we wondered how to fill the gaping hole in our lives.

But what we really needed was to know when Season 2 would be dropping on Disney+.

Back in February, Disney head Bob Iger revealed in a call to investors that S2 of the show would arrive in October 2020.

Now, Disney+ has officially announced that The Mandalorian Season 2 will arrive on the streaming service on Friday 30 October.

Shooting for Season 2 had already wrapped before the coronavirus pandemic hit. Plus, work is already underway on Season 3.

Set five years after the 1983 Star Wars film Return of the Jedi, The Mandalorian centres on a bounty hunter (Pedro Pascal) who is tasked with protecting The Child (also known as Baby Yoda).

Season 1 was nominated for 15 Emmy awards, including Outstanding Drama Series.

At this stage, not a lot is known about the plot for Season 2. However, there are a few new faces joining the cast.

Rosario Dawson (Rent) is set to play a live-action version of Ahsoka Tano, the Padawan apprentice of Anakin Skywalker, who has only ever been seen as an animated character in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels. Additionally, she was also heard by Rey as a Jedi voice in The Rise of Skywalker.

The Hollywood Reporter also revealed that Temuera Morrison, who portrayed Jango Fett in Attack of the Clones, will star as Boba Fett, the famed bounty hunter who first appeared in The Empire Strikes Back, and who seemingly died in Return of the Jedi as he fell into a sarlacc pit.

Michael Biehn and Bill Burr will also appear in Season 2, alongside returning cast members Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi and Ming-Na Wen.

So, it looks like we'll just be hibernating until 30 October now.
