When Is Paramount+ Coming to Australia?

Everything you need to know about the new streaming service.
The last thing that anyone needed was another streaming service to add to our already packed TV schedule, but that’s exactly what we’re getting in Australia when Paramount+ launches next month.
For those who are counting, there are now 12 major streaming services available in Australia, easily sending your monthly subscriptions bill to well over $100 if you’re happy to sign up for all of them. Throw in some smashed avo on toast and you can pretty much say goodbye to owning a home.
To get you ready for Paramount+’s launch down under, here’s everything you need to know before signing up.
When is Paramount+ coming to Australia?
Paramount+ officially launches in Australia next month on 11 August, so chuck that in your calendar and get ready to binge some awesome content.
How much will Paramount+ cost?
Great question. We know money is precious to you and clearly so does Paramount ‘cos they’ve made the monthly fee $8.99—slightly cheaper than Netflix, Stan, BINGE and Disney+, which all charge at least $10 per month.
What content will be on Paramount+?
This is where it gets exciting. Thanks to partnerships with Showtime, MTV, Nickelodeon, Sony Pictures and Comedy Central, Paramount+ have a library of over 20,000 movies and TV shows to help you escape reality.
A full list of what’s available hasn’t been released yet but Paramount+ have revealed some of the of the big names that are coming to our screens including:
- A Quiet Place
- Jackass
- Harry Potter
- Lord of the Rings
- South Park
- The Dark Knight Trilogy
- Mission Impossible
- Indiana Jones
On top of all that there’s a heap of original content coming to Paramount+ including the Halo TV adaptation, the iCarly reboot, the Dexter revival and a heap of other shows.
What about sport?
To round it all off, Paramount+ are diving into the sports arena to take on Fox Sports and Kayo thanks to a partnership with Network 10.
Included in the deal is anything and everything football (soccer) in Australia. A-League, W-League and any of the Socceroos and Matildas international games (excluding world cups) will be available to watch.
That’s a lot of football.
Paramount+ launches in Australia 11 August and will cost $8.99 per month.
