The Creepy Trailer For "You" Season 2 Has Arrived

Joe's back with his usual social commentary.
Back in October, it was announced that You Season 2 would be returning to our screens on 26 December 2019 to give us nightmares once again. For months, we have been waiting to see what the extraordinarily twisted and disturbing Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) is up to, and how he is dealing after the events of Season 1.
Well, the wait is finally over, because the trailer for the second season has been released.
Check it out. Fair warning though: it's gross as hell.
While the trailer doesn't give much away in terms of plot, it does reveal that Joe has moved from New York City to Los Angeles.
Mostly, he just bangs on about how fake Instagram culture is (he's not entirely wrong), calling out people for hiding behind their facades.
Joe also comments on the way everybody in LA is pretending to be someone they're not. It's highly ironic, considering he's doing the exact same thing. Yeah, his self-awareness isn't totally on point.
At the end of the trailer, we hear Joe introduce himself to a waitress, saying his name is "Will". It has sparked some Stranger Things memes.
*Season 1 spoilers ahead.*
If you have watched You Season 1, you would know that we left Joe in a pretty sticky situation. Throughout the season, we'd witnessed the NYC bookseller's obsession with Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail), and their tumultuous relationship.
In the season finale (spoilers coming) Joe killed Beck, after she realised he'd been stalking her before they even got together. However, it was quite the shock in the final scene when Joe's ex, Candace (Ambyr Childers), showed up. We'd also presumed Joe killed her, so it raised a lot of questions.
With all of that in mind, it's safe to say that Season 2 will show how Joe has navigated Candace's surprise arrival.
End of spoilers.
The Haunting of Hill House's Victoria Pedretti will also join the cast as "Love Quinn", who is working as a produce manager in a high-end grocery store. We can bet anything that she'll be Joe's next victim.
Co-showrunner Sara Gamble has said S2 will "diverge a little bit" from Caroline Kepnes' second book in the series, Hidden Bodies, so if you've read that, it's probably not the best indication of what's going to unfold.
Mark your calendars for Boxing Day, it's going to be one unsettling ride.
