"You" S2: Joe Has a New Target and Oh Snap, It’s the Bent-Neck Lady

Spoilers ahead for You S1 (like you haven’t already watched it).

Penn Badgley better start dusting the priceless antique books he keeps in his underground dungeon, because the makers of You have announced his target for Season 2.

According to Deadline, Victoria Pedretti will join the cast of the surprise hit Netflix show for S2, taking on the lead female role of "Love Quinn", a would-be chef working at a Los Angeles grocery store. No doubt she catches the eye of Badgley’s stalker Joe when he moves there from New York.

The twist? Love is "uninterested in the world of social media", which kinda rules out Joe’s fave stalking methods. We're sure he'll cope.

As previously reported, the showrunners have said the second season of You will "diverge a little bit" from the books that serve as inspiration for the series. They also confirmed Joe’s (still living) ex Candace, played by Ambyr Childers, will "have a role in Season Two", and we can guess she’ll probably make his dangerous romancing of Love Quinn even more difficult. Poor Joe!

jk just remember You is actually a very dark satire about toxic masculinity and domestic violence that challenges audiences to view a woman’s slow-motion entrapment as popcorn entertainment, as it so often is in other media without the interrogative spirit, utilising an unreliable and sadistic narrator who plays the victim, making a larger cultural comment about the way in which we as a society fail to believe women yet continually romanticise the sexist concepts of 'the friend zone', 'complimentary' harassment, and the 'crazy ex-girlfriend' okay byeeeeee.

(There’s no release date for You S2 just yet, but we have our theories as to when it will drop.)
