Taylor Swift’s Tease Either Means She’s Dropping New Music on Friday, Or She’s Hyped for the “GOT” Finale

It’s really happening, isn’t it?

Cryptologist and sometimes-singer Taylor Swift has posted a video to her recently-purged social media accounts, sending the internet into a conspiratorial spin.

To be fair, the internet is always in a conspiratorial spin over Swift, lest we forget suitcase-gate.

But still, this latest conspiracy theory has some legs. And even a tail.

Yesterday, we wrote how Swift wiped her social media accounts and seemingly left a coded message in the JavaScript of her official site, which, after some mild massaging, read: “thats what you dont see”.

Her official website later went down and a new site, thatswhatoydontsee.com, posted the message, “TS6 IS COMING,” suggesting new music was on the horizon.

Today, she’s added more fuel to the fire, adding a single video to her social media accounts.

The question is… what is it?

Many immediately jumped to the assumption that it was a video of a snake; a reference to her feuds with both Kim Kardashian and Katy Perry.

Does this mean she’s going the self-deprecating route with her new music? Or does it mean she's now buying into this villainous, cold-blooded persona?

Or, as some rumours have already indicated, is she setting us up for a live collaboration with Katy at the VMAs, joining her for a live rendition of “Swish Swish” (you know, the song that is obviously about Taylor)?

Others don’t see a snake at all, but rather, a dragon’s tail. Just in time for the Game of Thrones finale? Is Swift fangirling over Dany, releasing a song for the show (it wouldn’t be her first contribution to a soundtrack) or simply waiting to synchronise the release of her new single?

US Weekly insists, via “multiple sources”, that Swift is dropping the first single and music video from her sixth album on Friday, August 25 (that means Saturday for us in Australia).

And though we’ve been burnt before, it might actually be time to finally prepare yourself, physically and emotionally, for Swift’s proper follow-up to 1989.

To think of all the topics from the last three years she needs to cover…
