Hackers, Not HBO, Are Threatening to Leak the "Game of Thrones" Finale

Spoiler warning: C'mon, it's been a day now. Read on if you want to punish yourself for not staying relevant.

Those damn pesky hackers are threatening to release Game of Thrones' Season Seven finale ahead of its Monday premiere, which would mean swerving spoilers like they were a horde full of wights coming at you on a frozen lake.

The hackers contacted Mashable to leak a number of HBO's social media accounts and to warn that they would be releasing episodes five, six and seven. Obviously, episodes five and six are already out, so no one's screaming about that, but seven... seven is the finale. After last night's episode, it's sure to be a real emotional journey.

Here's next week's trailer to grasp the explosiveness of this episode.

Mashable contacted HBO for a comment and was referred to a previous statement about the hacks.

"We are not in communication with the hacker and we’re not going to comment every time a new piece of information is released," an HBO spokesperson provided. "The hacker may continue to drop bits and pieces of stolen information in an attempt to generate media attention. That’s a game we’re not going to participate in."

Last week, Episode Six was also leaked, but it wasn't the 'hackers' who did the leaking. Due to human error, HBO Spain released last night's episode a week early.

Geez, we're already nervous wrecks, so please don't punish us mere mortals further.

Sleep easy Viserion, our sweet prince.
