Winter Will Come, Eventually: "Game of Thrones" S8 Premiere Delayed

Winter's still coming, but it's just taking a bit slower than we thought.

For those who have been eagerly awaiting Game of Thrones' final season, it's been revealed that it's not likely to meet its intended 2019 release time.

Above: All our laugh-crying reactions to this news.

Casey Bloys, HBO's president of programming, told Huffington Post that Season Eight would be eligible for the 2020 Emmy Awards run. For that to occur, that means it will need to be released between 1 June 2019 and 31 May 2020 making it a bit later than we all expected.

"We're going to be toiling away on Season 8 until May of 2019, so it's eight or nine months away," Bloys added.

"But the prequel is starting to shoot in February, at least the pilot. So we'll still have quite a lot to do on Season 8 when they're beginning."

A representative from HBO later told Huffington Post that there still hasn't been an announcement for Season Eight's airdate.

Earlier this year, Maisie Williams (who plays the deadly Arya) allegedly told Metro that Season Eight would hit our screens by April 2019, which she later denied.

So, cross out your April date and put it in for May (the earliest, it seems) or, more likely, June or July.

We've still got a few more icy months until our watch (finally) ends.
