Brace Yourselves for a Long Winter: "Game of Thrones" Set to Return in 2019

Just in case you were hoping for next year.

Well, it's confirmed. While there were already rumours flying around that the final season of Game of Thrones may not return for two years, Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, has verified that our watch will end in 2019.

In an interview with Variety, Turner let slip that the final season wouldn't be coming out next year when asked if she was excited about her 2018 releases.

"Yeah, I’m really excited. Game of Thrones comes out in 2019," Turner admitted.

It makes a lot of sense actually, considering that each of the eight episodes are reported to be "movie-length". Turner explained they're only about a tenth of the way through filming.

"We started in October," Sophie said. "We’ve got six or seven months left."

She went on to explain that Sansa's unusually neat set-up in Season Seven will come crumbling down (noooo!) and she'll have to rely more on strength than political maneuvering.

"This season, there’s a new threat, and all of a sudden [Sansa] finds herself somewhat back in the deep end," Turner said. "It's a test for her of whether she can get through it."

Let's all send our best vibes to Sansa because it looks like she's going to need it.
