Agent of Chaos Sia Sides With Scooter Braun in Taylor Swift Feud

It’s always difficult when a head of state aligns themselves to an unpopular war, but that is where Australia finds itself today.

Be-wigged singer-songwriter Sia Furler yesterday broke her deafening silence on the feud that has consumed all of pop music, siding with Scooter Braun in his battle against Taylor Swift.

For those who haven’t been following along, here’s what the pop landscape looked like last week, shortly after Swift and Katy Perry brought their long-simmering tensions to an end.

And here’s what it looks like now.

The reason? Without getting into all the mucky, mostly confusing details, Swift penned an open letter after finding out that the masters of her back-catalogue of music had been sold off to Braun, the super-manager whose clients have included Kanye West and Justin Bieber.

She called it "my worst case scenario" and that all she could think about was "the incessant, manipulative bullying I’ve received at his hands for years."

Immediately, pop stars started taking sides, with Bieber obviously defending Braun (only to get dunked on by Cara Delevingne), while Halsey, Haim and Iggy Azalea supported Swift.

Over the past 72 hours, the argument has only gotten uglier for both sides, with Vulture penning a piece asking "Who’s Lying?" when it was revealed Swift had apparently passed on an opportunity to buy back her masters.

Since then, Sia chimed in to offer her support to Braun, telling him, "I love you keep going".

Sia then found herself the target of some online muckraking, facing accusations of blackface from her pre-wig past.

So, yes, in three days, this has escalated wildly, and it doesn’t seem likely any of the parties involved in this battle will hug it out, dressed as a hamburger and fries, in any future Taylor Swift video.

War is hell.
