Write On: Meet Our Student Contributors for Semester 2

Meet the four students whose articles you'll be reading over the next semester.
Every few months, we invite students from around the country to share their voice on the Student Edge website.
Last semester, our student contributors commented on everything from the Snapchat/Instagram wars, the backlash to 13 Reasons Why, the modern relevance of crusty old literature, the importance of your superannuation, South Australia's power crisis, representation in the media, Australia and America's "refugee swap" and, last but not least, Married at First Sight.
You can check out their great work here.
This month, we welcome a new batch of aspiring journalists. Meet the writers who’ll be giving you their opinion on everything from pop culture to politics for the rest of 2017.
Andrea Au (20, VIC)

Hi! My name is Andrea. I'm in my third year of uni, studying Communications and Chinese Studies, but I began branching out to writing in my first year. I love to cook and travel (Osaka is definitely my fave place I've been to so far), as well as keep up to date on pop culture and news, while also binge-watching weird videos on YouTube. I hope you all enjoy the articles I will be posting in the coming months!
Ciara Burren (16, WA)

Hi! My name is Ciara (pronounced Kee-ra) and I’m a Year 11 student struggling with the mountain of work ATAR brings into my life. Writing is the easiest way for me to get my thoughts and views out into the world, which is why I love it. I have some vague ideas of what I want to do when I eventually graduate from high school, ranging from journalism to teaching high school English and history. I love music but lack any musical talent of my own (that gene skipped me in the family). I grew up listening to the likes of The Beatles and the Stones, and now listen to any records that I can put my hands on. I hope you all enjoy my articles over the next few months.
Vivian Chen (19, NSW)

Hi! My name's Vivian and I’m a first year uni student in Sydney. My days (in particular those just before exams—don't ask me why) are mostly filled with finding a new television drama, finishing it over the course of a few hours and then feeling empty for the rest of the week. Apart from that, I like reading, travelling and finding new places to eat. I’ll try to make my articles in the next coming months as interesting as possible, and I hope you enjoy them!
Natalie Herranz (16, NSW)

Hey guys! My name’s Natalie and I’m a 16-year-old high school student from Western Sydney. My free time is usually spent gallivanting through the aisles of the local library, attempting to write slam poetry, scrolling through Student Edge, or hiding under a blanket reading The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood. (If you’re looking for a good book, you should definitely give it a shot!) I’m really excited to be a Student Edge Contributor and look forward to writing some interesting articles for you all!
