Our 10 Favourite Performances From One World: Together At Home

Cancel your #iso plans and watch these immediately.

The coronavirus pandemic has had a devastating impact on musicians all over the world. With people practicing social distancing, artists have had no choice but to perform virtual gigs for fans via social media platforms.

On Sunday, more than 100 artists treated viewers across the globe to performances from their living rooms as part of the One World: Together At Home concert. Curated by Lady Gaga, the six-hour event has raised almost $US128 million to help support healthcare workers in the fight against COVID-19.

Singers like Taylor Swift, Celine Dion, Elton John, Kacey Musgraves, Rita Ora and Liam Payne delivered heartfelt renditions of well-known tunes during the fest.

If you didn’t get to catch the concert live because you were too busy doing other #iso activities, here are 10 of our favourite performances in no particular order.

1. Lady Gaga, "Smile"

Not only did Gaga manage to curate an incredible event, but she also gave one of the most memorable performances. Covering "Smile" by Nat King Cole, she impressed viewers with her jazz-style vocals and piano skills.

Now we just really need #LG6.

2. Billie Eilish & FINNEAS, "Sunny"

Billie’s performances over the past few months have all been top-notch, and her cruisy execution of Bobby Hebb’s "Sunny" was no different. With her brother/producer FINNEAS playing the keyboard, her cover reminded us all that there are brighter days ahead.

3. Taylor Swift, "Soon You’ll Get Better"

Giving one of her most intimate performances ever, Queen Swift sang "Soon You’ll Get Better", a track she wrote about watching her mother battle cancer. It’s safe to say she left fans in a puddle of tears.

4. Little Mix, "Touch"

The internet simply cannot stop talking about Little Mix’s highly entertaining performance of their tune "Touch". Despite being in separate homes, their harmonies came together perfectly.

5. Camila Cabeo & Shawn Mendes, "What a Wonderful World"

We stan a power couple.

6. The Rolling Stones, "You Can’t Always Get What You Want"

The Stones playing one of their most popular hits was undoubtedly a highlight. With Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts all in separate homes, it goes to show that social distancing shouldn’t prevent you from jamming with your bandmates.

7. Lizzo, "A Change Is Gonna Come"

Lizzo gave a glorious rendition of Sam Cooke’s "A Change Is Gonna Come", blowing viewers away with her powerhouse vocals. "Thank you to everyone working hard to keep us safe," she said after her performance.

8. John Legend & Sam Smith, "Stand By Me"

It was beautiful to see John Legend and Sam Smith perform a remote duet of Ben E. King’s "Stand By Me". With John playing piano, the pair belted out the classic song with ease.

More importantly though: How many trophies does John Legend have?

9. The Killers, "Mr Brightside"

Finally, the isolation performance we’ve been waiting for.

The Killers provided audiences with a very unique version of their track "Mr Brightside", featuring far more synth than we’re used to. It's time to dance in your kitchens.

10. Lady Antebellum, "What I’m Leaving For"

Perhaps one of the most mesmerising performances from the event was from American country music group Lady Antebellum. "We just want to take a moment to say thank you and our deepest, deepest gratitude to all of the essential workers right now," lead singer Hillary Scott said before their performance.

Happy listening!
