Netflix’s "Disenchantment" Looks Like "The Simpsons" Plus "Adventure Time", "Rick and Morty"

Give it to us immediately.

Adventure Time may be saying farewell very soon, but Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons, is here to fill the bizarro-fantasy-sized hole in your heart.

Netflix today released the first images and details for their new animated show Disenchantment, which, like The Simpsons and Futurama before it, was created by Groening. (It’s his first show for the streamer.)

See, here's one of those images.

And another.

According to the official press release, the show will whisk viewers "to the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland, where they will follow the misadventures of hard-drinking young princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci."

(That "hard-drinking" description makes us wonder if Bean will be a bit of a Rick, but we wouldn’t blame Netflix for wanting some of Rick and Morty’s reflected glory, given its recent 70-episode renewal.)

Though Futurama faves John DiMaggio, Billy West and Maurice LaMarche will provide voices on Disenchantment, the lead characters are voiced by Broad City’s Abbi Jacobson (as Bean), Nat Faxon (as Elfo), and legendary oddball Eric Andre (as the demonic Luci, of course).

Go on then, have one more pic.

Disenchantment launches its ten-episode first season on Netflix 17 August 2018.
