Here Are the Hidden References in Taylor Swift and Brendon Urie's Pastel Bop "ME!"

Let's hope all the spilt paint in Taylor Swift's "ME!" was purely CGI.

If you've somehow managed to avoid the internet all day until now then it might be news that Taylor Swift just dropped a brand new single with Panic! At The Disco's Brendon Urie called "ME!".

It's accompanied by what is quite possibly the most pastel music video in history, loaded with multiple outfit changes and paint splashes that can be best described as "unicorn vomit".

But, the video is so much more than a corny colour fest with a saccharine backing track.

Swift, not one to shy away from adding in subtle details to keep her fans guessing, has littered "ME!" with little references. We've done our best to collect them all and provide you with the tea. Without further ado... 

The Sssnake.

Opening the video was this ominous, scaley monster. Slithering over colourful bricks, the snake was Taylor Swift's spirit animal during the Great Snapchat Debacle between Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift that birthed Swift's forgettable Reputation era.

After a few seconds of some pretty menacing hissies, however, it dissipates into butterflies symbolising the end of her bad girl ways.

Next up we have a truly cringe Panic! At The Disco-esque argument between Urie and Swift. Every French person alive would be keeling over in disgust at their attempts to speak le français.

Amongst all the ear-piercing French, Swift's character decries Urie's for saying whatever he said "in front of [their] young daughters".

Those young daughters are, in fact, Swift's real-life feline pets, Olivia and Meredith.

Brendon Poppins?

Next up, we have Brendon Urie's verse where he literally leaps out of a window and catches an umbrella.

Gravity concerns aside, this one's a clear reference to the childhood classic Mary Poppins and we're better for it.

Cool chicks?

Swift mentions "cool chicks" twice and in the video, we see a wall of portraits of chickens with shades on.

One portrait of three women stands out because it's none other than the Dixie Chicks. Does this mean they're a potential feature on the upcoming album?
