Here Are All the Current Pop Songs Ashley O's "On a Roll" Is Legitimately Better Than

Miley Cyrus performed a satire pop song on Black Mirror. It's accidentally better than most pop songs today.
Black Mirror recently dropped their fifth season and while it was disappointingly short with only three episodes, it served up some real gems.
One of the most popular gems is that of Miley Cyrus' appearance in "Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too".
In the episode, Cyrus plays Ashley O, a saccharine pop star known for her iconic hair and infectious earworms.
On heavy rotation within the 67-minute episode is one particular song, "On a Roll", and It. Is. A. Certified. Bop.
Remixed from Nine Inch Nails' (NIN) 1990 hit "Head Like a Hole", the song's lyrics are aggressively positive and corny but its melody is so damn catchy, you have no option but to just swallow it like medicine.
And, just like the show, the real-life internet is hooked on Ashley O.
Ashley O just came out of a coma and isn’t even real but she’s saving pop regardless... you have to stan it

In fact, the song is such a good pop track, it's a league above some of the real-world hits on the airwaves now.
So, in respect to this accidental banger, we've come up with a short list of all the mediocre pop songs on the charts right now it's way better than.
Taylor Swift's "ME!"
Yes, the lyrics in "ME!" are sickeningly sweet in the same way that "On a Roll" is, but it doesn't have that same pizazz. The addition of Brendon Urie makes this a bit more palatable. Still, can he and Tay dance in-sync like Ashley O and her backup dancers? No? We didn't think so.
Katy Perry's "Never Really Over"
The bar for Perry is quite low so "Never Really Over", while being violently mediocre, is actually not in her bottom five singles. Saying that, it does not rate anywhere near our manufactured pop overlord, Ashley O. I mean, does Perry sing that she's "stoked on ambition and verve"? Get outta here.
Halsey's "Nightmare"
Okay, this one might be a tad unfair as "Nightmare" is a certifiably better bop than the previous two entries but it's still not Ashley O level, duh. It's actually more in line with Ashley O's rock chic transformation (rebranded as Ashley F***n O) at the end of the episode.
Unfortunately for Halsey, "On a Roll" is much less forgettable.
Jonas Brothers' "Sucker"
Yes, we love that the Jonas Brothers are back with new music but we've just got to reiterate, it just doesn't quite make our foot tap on beat like when we hear Ashley's "Oh honey, I'll do anything for you..."
Miley Cyrus' "Mother's Daughter"
In a major plot twist, Miley Cyrus' own new single didn't quite live up to the Ashley Eternal-sized bar. While it's one of the better pop singles in this list, she's not rocking the pink bob in the promo shots so we can't stan it on the same level.

The bar has been set high, pop stars. The internet has chosen to stan our fake popstar queen and it's going to take a lot more to dethrone her.
