Don't Freak Out, But a "Mandalorian" Game Is Reportedly in Development

This is the way.

Elon Musk isn't the only one launching rockets 'cos word is breaking that a Star Wars Mandalorian game is in development by Microsoft.

Frankly, I’m surprised we haven’t had a rumour like this sooner. The Mandalorian is one of the hottest shows on Disney Plus, so a game expanding the Star Wars universe through the eyes of Mando just makes good business sense.

The rumour came to life in a video call with Xbox head Phil Spencer during the 2021 GameBeat Summit.

Spencer is notorious for displaying future products and games on the shelves in his office, with the Xbox Series S hiding behind him for months before it was officially announced.

Sneaky, Spencer.

This time around, eagle-eyed viewers believed they spotted a Mandalorian Funko Pop sitting on Spencer’s shelf. That’s all that was needed for people to go into a frenzied overdrive.

From here, Xbox insider and co-founder of XboxEra @Shpeshel_Ed tweeted, “You’ll notice...there’s a Mandalorian Funko on Phil’s shelf. Yes. Someone is making a Mandalorian game. Not sure who yet.”

That tweet has since been deleted because as it turns out, the Funko Pop wasn’t the Mandalorian but the Arbiter from the Halo series.

Who hasn’t done that, amirite?

Anyway, @Shpeshel_Ed then tweeted an apology to people, realising that he had mistook the Funko Pop but doubled down on the rumour that there will be a Mandalorian game.

“So little bit of a whoopsie. Yeah, there is going to be a Mando game. But um… that’s apparently not a Mando Funko. I might have just said something I wasn’t supposed to yet. Hoping I didn’t just burn my source.”

It’s all good bro, we’ve all mistaken an Arbiter Funko Pop for the Mandalorian and tweeted insider information before it was meant to be announced. Don't be so hard on yourself.

All that twitter banter aside, I’m pumped for the possibility of another game in the Star Wars Universe after the hugely popular Jedi: Fallen Order.

Plus, Disney owe us a bounty hunter game after they cancelled Star Wars: 1313.

Make it happen!

For now, no information regarding a plot or release date for the Mandalorian game has been released, but we'll keep you updated as soon as we know more.
