"Deadpool" Isn't On Disney+ for Maybe Obvious Reasons

"Daddy needs to express some rage…"
Now that Disney+ is available, we’re certain you’ve already worked through several seasons of The Simpsons and squeezed in a couple of nostalgic faves like The Mighty Ducks and Rookie of the Year too.
Unfortunately, not everything you’d expect on their new streaming platform is available at launch.
That includes the live-action Spider-Man movies (still belonging to Sony Pictures), and the OG Lizzie McGuire series (available on Stan in AU). However, despite having the biggest catalogue of Marvel movies (and soon, Marvel spin-off TV shows), Disney+ is keeping a few Marvel characters off the service.
Guess who?

That’s right, even though Disney absorbed Fox—who owned the rights to Deadpool and his X-Men buddies, and produced all their films to date—they have declined to add their ruder films to Disney+.
Of course, it’s not all that surprising. Disney+ is intended to be a platform for families, with no R-rated (based on the American classification system) fare, which is why a number of other adult-oriented Fox films aren’t available on there. Fox product The Simpsons is really as raunchy as it gets on Disney+.
The Deadpool series and Logan famously set a new standard for violence and coarse language in superhero movies (setting the stage for Warner Bros’ DC adaptation Joker), and the X-Men live-action films also pushed the boundary despite their relatively family-friendly rating. Hence: You can't find them on the Disney-branded streaming service (except in animated form).
However, Disney also owns Hulu, and is rumoured to be bringing Hulu to an international audience at some point in the future. So, I dunno maybe Deadpool and Professor X’s students will end up there.
