Charli XCX’s Quarantine Album "How I’m Feeling Now" Has Arrived

The tracks were written and recorded over the past six weeks.

With the coronavirus pandemic forcing people around the globe to stay at home, it was really only a matter of time before an artist released an album entirely created in quarantine.

Well, it comes as absolutely no surprise that pop icon Charli XCX is the first major artist to make an album in lockdown. We've always known that the futuristic singer is one of the most innovative musicians around, and now she's dived into unchartered territory once again.

Charli first announced the project on 7 April, during a Zoom conference with fans. It was welcome news, particularly considering she waited nearly five years to release her third official album Charli.

"For me staying positive goes hand in hand with being creative, and so that's why I've decided that I'm going to use this isolation time to make a brand new album from scratch," Charli said.

As Charli also pointed out, she could only use the tools and equipment she already had at home to make the tunes.

The album, titled How I'm Feeling Now, took the singer six weeks to create, and Charli shared updates online about how she was tracking throughout the process.

Yesterday, she unleashed the album's tracklist and artwork on her Twitter. Stans were excited to see that Charli finally decided to include "party 4 u", after teasing the song in 2017 during a DJ set in Japan.

How I'm Feeling Now arrived on Spotify earlier today, so you can go ahead and stream it now. There are 11 tracks, so it'll only take you about 37 minutes to get through.

Although, you probably won't want it to end there.

After giving it a listen, it's obvious the album is totally reflective of the chaos and uncertainty that we've all been feeling during COVID-19. Plus, it only cements how talented and creative Charli is.

It's safe to say stans are pleased with the singer's new bops.

Now, it's time for a dance party in your living room. For future reference, you might even want to order your own Charli XCX wig to wear while you rock out.
