Lorde stans are rejoicing 'cos the singer dropped a whole lot of details about her upcoming album Solar Power overnight.

In an email to her fans, she revealed that she's set to tour Australia and New Zealand for the first time in a very long five years.

She'll be kicking things off in Christchurch, New Zealand on 26 February next year, before heading down under on 10 March to play in Brisbane. From there, she'll perform in Melbourne on 12 March, Sydney on 15 March, and wrap up in Perth on 19 March.

The singer is also scheduled to travel to Europe, the United Kingdom and North America.

When will Solar Power be released?

We know what you really want to know is exactly when Lorde's new album will arrive.

Well, she's officially confirmed that Solar Power will be released for our ears to devour on 20 August this year.

Yep, that's only a couple of months away, so you'll want to start preparing yourself physically and emotionally.

Solar Power is Lorde's first album since Melodrama, which dropped in 2017 and featured popular tracks including "Green Light" and "Homemade Dynamite".

The forthcoming album, which has been produced by Jack Antonoff, will contain 12 songs. Lorde dropped the first single "Solar Power" earlier this month, with some fans being nuked from Twitter for sharing the, uh, cheeky single artwork.

So, apparently there's a solar eclipse today and a solar eclipse is when the moon blocks out the sun.

"Every song on the album, I did say it has to sound like the sun, and this one in a big way. It sounds like the beach, the waves, the girls lying on the beach. I really wanted it to have that vibe," Lorde said in an interview with triple j.

Tickets for Lorde's Solar Power tour go on sale on Monday, 5 July, with a Frontier pre-sale on Wednesday, 30 June.
