Lorde Has Teased Her New Album and the Internet Is Going Wild

She's back.

It's been a while since we've heard from Lorde. In fact, the singer has been fairly silent since confirming she was delaying her third album late last year due to the death of her dog, Pearl.

However, that all changed earlier today when she sent out an email to fans on her mailing list to let them know how she is doing in coronavirus isolation.

As reported by the NZ Herald, the "Green Light" singer shared how "grateful" she is for the "calm, sensible leadership" by the New Zealand government in response to COVID-19.

Additionally, she revealed that she is working with Melodrama collaborator Jack Antonoff again for her next album, which means it's definitely on the way.

In the email, Lorde wrote that she'd gone over to Los Angeles to work with Jack, until the pandemic hit. Although, she noted she'd been FaceTiming with him to keep the creative process going.

The singer also addressed why she has taken such a long break from touring.

"I knew I needed a break from touring at the end of the last cycle. I was finding the combination of brutal stage fright and having no fixed home and no connection with what I ate or where I lived extremely grim," she wrote.

Considering Lorde's last album Melodrama was released back in 2017, fans have been getting a little very impatient for new music.

So, it's understandable that the email sent the internet into a complete frenzy.

Lorde hasn't confirmed what her next album will be called, or when it will be released.

But hey, at least 2020 is looking a little brighter now.

(Update: 08/06/2021) Lorde has teased the release of her new single "Solar Power" from the album which is due for release later this year.
