Brace Yourselves: "Black Mirror" Might Return to Mess Up Your Minds This Boxing Day

No one's safe from another Black Mirror release.

It's been nearly a whole year since Season Four of Black Mirror dropped into our lives to ruin what sanity we had left after the previous three seasons.

So, if you've just recovered from that six-episode run of mind-churning, not-so-speculative fiction, you might be a bit ambivalent to hear that there's another Black Mirror release due before the end of the year.

A Netflix Twitter account, NX, released an image with all of December's releases and there, towards the end of December, was your best-worst nightmare, Black Mirror.

The release is called Black Mirror: Bandersnatch and according to the now-deleted Tweet, it's heading to screens on 26 December.

While Netflix has yet to confirm whether this news is indeed real, the other premiere dates for Mowgli and Neo Yokio seem pretty close to Australia's own, making it seem pretty legit.

A 'Bandersnatch' is a creature originating from Lewis Carroll's 1871 book, Through the Looking-Glass; you know, the book sequel to Alice in Wonderland.

They're described as being "ferocious" and "extraordinarily fast", which sounds like the stuff of actual night terrors.

So, does that mean we'll see a Bandersnatch terrorise a city in this upcoming episode or season? Probably not, given that previous episodes such as "Crocodile" and "Metalhead" didn't actually feature human-eating lizards or long-haired headbangers.

We'll just have to wait (while biting our nails and rocking back-and-forth) and see.
