Lindsay Lohan Is Starring in a Chrissy Rom-Com for Netflix and We’re Shook

Filming is due to start in November.

In the most unexpected news I think I’ll hear all week, Lindsay Lohan has announced that she’s back in the acting game. Plus, it's not just for any ol’ movie, it's for a Christmas rom-com.

Netflix confirmed the news on Tuesday evening, spilling the beans on the film's plotline.

The new, yet-to-be-named flick tells the romantic story of a freshly engaged and spoiled hotel heiress who, after a skiing accident, finds herself in the care of a handsome, working-class man and his daughter.

That’s literally all the details we get. I have so many questions.

While the film is a Christmas movie, it’s not due to be filmed until November this year, so we’re pretty sure that it won’t be in cinemas for this year’s Chrissy (cry).

This new role for Lindsay is her first acting gig since Among the Shadows, a horror film from 2019. Before that, the last acting roles she had were way back in 2013.

While Lindsay hasn’t been acting for a few years, she has been keeping busy on TV series like her MTV reality series Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club and, of course, Australia’s version of The Masked Singer.

If you’re a little too young to remember, Lindsay got her big break when she was 11 in the 1998 reboot of The Parent Trap, where she played two identical twins who find each other after their parents’ divorce.

She then also made waves in the modern remake of Freaky Friday and is most well-known for her iconic role as Cady in Mean Girls.

Being a child actress, Lindsay dealt with intense paparazzi scrutiny and personal issues for the majority of her young life. She took a step back from her public profile for a few years, so it’s encouraging to see her back and excited to start something new.

As for this new gig, all that’s been revealed is that Lindsay will star in it; the rest of the cast is still yet to be announced.
