Christmas With the Kranks.
Set in early 2000s suburbia, Christmas With the Kranks tells the hilarious story of a middle-aged couple whose daughter has grown up and moved out of home, so for one year only they decide to simply not do Christmas.
As you can expect, this decision goes down extremely well with their Christmas crazed suburb and community.
It’s an hour and a half of laughing at Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis (iconic duo honestly) and a great one to watch with your ‘rents or younger siblings.

This is not up for debate: Die Hard does in fact count as a Christmas movie.
Okay, okay, it might be up for debate but you’ve gotta admit that a load of people watch this over Xmas and it’s an ‘80s classic.
Planning to spend Christmas with his separated wife, detective John McClane arrives in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, while at a Chrissy party he learns about a hostage situation in an office building, including his wife, and has to save the day.
Based on the 1970 novel Nothing Lasts Forever by Roderick Thorp, this is defs your pick if you like action, drama, and explosions.

Someone turn the speakers up ‘cos we’re about to blast some Mariah Carey.
Love Actually is the pick that’ll both warm and break your heart all at the same time.
Featuring an ensemble cast composed of big British actors, the film tells the stories of a group of people who are all somehow connected, living in London during the Christmas season.
There are new loves found and other loves lost but it’s a gorgeous movie that’ll have you belting your lungs out to “All I Want For Christmas” by the very end.

Looking for another romantic comedy but with less sadness? The Holiday has got your back.
Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jack Black and Jude Law come together to show you that sometimes a sea change is all you need. Yes, even on Christmas.
Amanda (Cameron) and Iris (Kate) swap places in the UK and Los Angeles to get away from the troubles of their lives and spend Christmas alone in their own little version of paradise but find love along the way.

Something a bit more modern but brimming with ‘80s vibes thanks to the genius of Georgie Michael is 2019’s Last Christmas.
Following the life of troubled Christmas store worker Kate (Emelia Clarke), we go on a journey of self-discovery and sadness as she unknowingly meets the man who saved her life.
This adorable (and low-key supernatural) drama will warm your heart the most this Christmas.

Okay, we obviously couldn’t talk Christmas movies without mentioning Home Alone, that would be a Christmas crime.
Starring Macaulay Culkin in one of his earliest roles, eight-year-old Kevin is accidentally left behind when his family leaves for their Christmas break in France.
At first, Kevin is thrilled to be away from his annoying siblings and bossy parents but soon discovers that thieves are trying to break into his home, so, he puts up a pretty tough fight and saves his family home.
This flick is in the top three of many moviegoers Christmas movie lists, so you can’t possibly miss it.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
This ones for your inner kid. How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a must pick if you’re keen for a trip down nostalgia lane or wanna bring back the mems with your younger siblings.
In case you aren’t familiar, the Grinch is a green What that lives in solitude just outside the cosy, Christmassy town of Whoville.
Unfortunately, the Grinch hates the townsfolk and despises Christmas. So, Cindy Lou, a six-year-old girl from Whoville who believes in the spirit of the festival, sets out to change his mind.
With Jim Carey behind the wheel, you know you’re in for a theatrical masterpiece.

Now here’s one for the Santa lovers: it’s not Christmas Eve without The Santa Clause.
Tim Allen sure loves a Chrissy movie, and with this one, we can’t complain.
After accidentally becoming the next Santa, Scott (Tim) is forced to fix a Christmas crisis, all while keeping his Christmassy secret safe and protecting his son and ex-wife.
Considering this movie spawned a series of sequels, you just know it’s a good’n.
