Billie Eilish Thinks Her Stunning Oscars Performance Was Absolute "Trash"

Come again?

One of the biggest highlights of the 2020 Oscars was undoubtedly Billie Eilish's performance of "Yesterday" by The Beatles during the show's In Memoriam segment. It was a beautiful rendition, with Billie bringing a great deal of emotion to her cover of the popular track.

Accompanied by her brother/producer Finneas on the piano, the American singer proved why she swept the major categories at the 2020 Grammys, and that she can really sing.

If you haven't heard it yet, check it out.

Let's face it: if you delivered a performance like that, your life would be pretty much complete.

So, it comes as a bit of a surprise to learn that Billie thought she totally "bombed" her take on the classic.

In an interview on Apple Music's New Music Daily with Zane Lowe, she tore into her performance of the tune.

"Yeah, I was sick for all of the Oscars, I bombed that performance, that sh*t was trash," she proclaimed.

Continuing to be her own worst critic, Billie went on to explain that the Oscars simply wasn't her scene.

"I know, I know, and it was also, like, the Oscars is not my, um, people," she said.

"I'm not used to that. At least the Grammys wasn't as scary because it was artists, and it felt like my people."

We're not entirely sure what Billie is on about, but we'd like someone to give her a hug this instant. Plus, the fact that she was sick only makes her performance even more impressive!

It's likely that Billie will have to perform for some notable actors again, considering she's recently released her new James Bond theme song "No Time To Die". She's actually already sang the track live at the BRIT Awards in London, and the audience went crazy for it.

Additionally, it will be interesting to see if Billie can win the Oscar for Best Original Song at next year's show, given that two previous Bond themes have taken out the prize. Adele's "Skyfall" won in 2013 and Sam Smith's "Writing's On The Wall" took home the trophy in 2016.

It's tradition for the Best Original Song nominees to perform at the ceremony, so it's highly probable that Billie will have to step back on the Oscars stage.
