Sam Smith Basically Revealed He's Singing The Bond Theme For "Spectre" Via Instagram

Update: Welp, this has been confirmed. Smith's theme - "Writing's On The Wall" - will debut September 25 in Australia. Prepare your ears accordingly.

The original story is as follows.

After months of speculation as to which English artist would be providing the next Bond theme, Sam Smith has dropped a subtle but still pretty obvious spoiler bomb on Instagram.

The "Stay With Me" singer has posted to social media a picture of his hand, adorned in a ring emblazoned with the Spectre logo.

Upon publication, those who had put money on Radiohead, Ellie Goulding and Muse providing the theme tune likely howled "Bond!" into the heavens with frustration.

Especially this guy, who was deadset on betting £15,000 that Thom Yorke and pals would be opening Daniel Craig's next 007 adventure.

Perhaps when Idris Elba finally gets a crack at the gig, he can bring Radiohead with him.

In the meantime, Spectre arrives in cinemas this November. Expect a new Sam Smith song - with plenty of horns - to arrive in the next few weeks, accordingly.

That is, unless maybe he just like rings with octopi on them?
