UK Bookie Stops Taking Bets On Next James Bond After Massive Gamble On Tom Hiddleston

A bookmaker in the UK has suspended betting on who will take over for Daniel Craig as James Bond, following a recent push for The Avengers star (and boyfriend of the Internet) Tom Hiddleston.

According to The Guardian, Coral bookmakers stopped taking bets after one punter went all in on Hiddleston, slashing Loki’s odds to 1-2.

It’s believed the incoming bets are the result of a recent meeting Hiddleston had with Spectre director Sam Mendes and longtime series producer Barbara Broccoli.

“There’s no smoke without fire, and following the big gamble on Tom Hiddleston in the last 24 hours, we’ve had no choice but to pull the plug on the market,” said Coral spokesperson Nicola McGeady.

Idris Elba and Damien Lewis were priced at 9-1 and 14-1, respectively, before betting was canned. Aidan Turner and Tom Hardy are also believed to be in the running for the gig.

Nothing has been made official yet – in fact, Craig is yet to actually hand in his licence to kill.

In Australia, bets can still be placed on the next James Bond. Over at Sportsbet, Hiddleston is the favourite. Further down the list of choices, you’ll find P. Diddy, who once commissioned an audition for the role at literally no-one’s request. We respectfully offer our vote in his direction.
