Daniel Craig Was Reportedly Offered $AUD175 Million To Keep Playing Bond, Said "Nah"

It’s been a big week for unofficial James Bond news.

First, Tom Hiddleston became such a lock to take over the role, a UK bookie stopped taking bets on the possibility. This was based solely on the fact Hiddleston was spotted lunching with Spectre director Sam Mendes and long-time series producer Barbara Broccoli.

Then, one of our members forcefully asserted that it is Idris Elba who truly deserves the part, though it’s worth adding that no Student Edge members, at this time, are part of the casting process on the next Bond movie.

Now comes a report from the not-at-all esteemed Daily Mail, suggesting Daniel Craig has told producers he’s “done” with the Bond saga.

According to “insiders”, Craig turned down £68million ($AUD137.27 million) for two more movies.

Of course, you don’t need to be an insider to know Craig isn’t super keen on reprising the iconic superspy, having told press last year that he’d rather “slash my wrists” than make another 007 movie.

That said, nothing’s official until it’s official. Still, I wouldn’t necessarily hold out hope for a fifth Craig effort.
