Billie Eilish Has Sparked an Intense Debate Over the Colour of Her Nike Sneakers

They’re totally pink and white.  

Remember when all people could talk about on social media was the colour of "the dress"? Yeah, what a time to be alive.

Some people thought it was blue and black, while others were convinced its true colours were gold and white (it was actually blue and black). You probably recall having screaming matches with your friends and family about it back in 2015.

The arguments became so fiery that even celebrities like Kim Kardashian West and Justin Bieber weighed in with their opinions.

Since then, we’ve waited and waited for another optical illusion war to divide the internet. Although, we never thought our moody Queen Billie Eilish would be the one to start the debate.

Over the weekend, the singer went on a hilarious rant about the colour of her Nike shoes on her Instagram Story.

It all started when a follower asked her whether she thought "the dress" was blue and black or white and gold. From there, Billie went on to share her own optical illusion, showing fans her sneakers from Nike’s Air Utempo.

While the shoes are technically mint and white, her father reckons they look pink and white instead (he’s right).

Billie simply wasn’t having it.

To prove that the shoes are mint and white, she posted several images of the sneakers against other pink and white shoes and took them outside so viewers could take a better look at them.

To be fair, the mint and white is far more obvious in the natural lighting.

The "Bad Guy" performer’s mother also admitted she thought the sneakers looked pink and green.

From there, Billie lost all faith in the internet’s ability to accurately decide what colour her shoes are.

"I’ve come to the conclusion that you guys just don’t know your sneakers at all," she said.

"I don’t care what you think they look like; I care what they are! The whole internet is gaslighting me!"

"There are bigger problems in the world…" Billie’s mum replied.

She’s right, of course. However, that hasn’t stopped fans from robustly debating the colour of the shoes on social media.
