Billie Eilish Graced the Cover of British Vogue and Talked Body Positivity

The Insta pics got over 1 million likes in just six minutes.
However, just as we thought we couldn’t wait much longer, Billie and British Vogue blessed the internet with some fire content that sends a really important message.
If you somehow haven’t seen it on your socials yet (how?), queen Billie shared a series of images overnight, including the magazine cover of her latest pin up style shoot with British Vogue (lord have mercy).
Not only do the pics of Billie exude confidence and beauty, but the cover photo managed to swoop up more than one million likes on Instagram in just six minutes.
Yep, that makes it the fastest picture to achieve that number in the entire history of the platform. We all knew Billie had power, but damn.
What’s so amazing about these photos (aside from the fact that Billie looks like a goddess) is how they help spread body positivity and self-love.
In the past, Billie has been very open about her struggles with her own body image, as well as the slander she often cops by mainstream media on a daily basis. So, it’s really awesome to see a media outlet working with Billie to help her look and feel amazing.
In the cover image posted to Instagram, Billie wrote, “Thank you… the British Vogue team, for respecting my vision and making this come to life.”
Billie also shared her thoughts on the shoot in an interview with British Vogue, revealing that she pretty much couldn’t give a damn what haters might say (we love that for her).
“’If you’re about body positivity, why would you wear a corset? Why wouldn’t you show your actual body?’” she told British Vogue, pre-empting the response from critics.
“My thing is that I can do whatever I want.
“It’s all about what makes you feel good. If you want to get surgery, go get surgery. If you want to wear a dress that somebody thinks that you look too big wearing, f*** it—if you feel like you look good, you look good.”
Billie also goes on to describe the typical standard of beauty and media representation of the “classic hot girl” as something that caused a lot of her personal struggles and explains that she wants to feel empowered no matter what she’s wearing.
“Suddenly you’re a hypocrite if you want to show your skin, and you’re easy and you’re a s*** and you’re a w****,” she said.
“If I am, then I’m proud. Me and all the girls are h***, and f*** it, y’know? Let’s turn it around and be empowered in that. Showing your body and showing your skin—or not—should not take any respect away from you.”
Honestly, yes girl.
On top of the massive amount of likes the photos snagged on Instagram, Billie’s fans are resharing the shoot in support of her powerful message.
