Courteney Cox and Ed Sheeran Recreated the “Friends” Dance Routine and We’re Obsessed

I’m cheering and cringing.

It has been less than a week since the highly anticipated Friends reunion special aired and it's sparked a lot of news about the show's main cast members ever since it landed. 

One juicy revelation: David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston both had a crush on each other while filming the show. 

But the tea doesn’t stop there. Overnight, Courteney Cox and Ed Sheeran shared a clip online that no one was expecting. The two got together and performed (a clearly rehearsed) rendition of ‘The Routine’ dance from Friends Season 6.

It’s no Lady Gaga performing “Smelly Cat” but I’ll take it.

If your memory is failing you, the episode we’re referring to is called "The One With the Routine", in which Monica (Cox) and her on screen brother Ross (Schwimmer) pull out their old childhood dance routine in an effort to win a dance comp.

It’s been a shocking two decades since Cox has performed the dance (at least on screen) but she must have those moves burnt into her brain ‘cos the pair smashed it.

Cox shared the vid to her 11.2 million Instagram followers and Sheeran shared it to his 32.3 million, so it's probably fair to say that it's been viewed a few times.

As you could expect, fans of Friends and Sheeran were loving this, almost as much as other celebrities in the comments.

The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco (Penny Hofstader) wrote: “This is EPIC,” and Schitt’s Creek star Sarah Levy (Twyla Sands) commented: ”I've never been more jealous of anything in my life.”

I’ll be honest, I never expected Cox and Sheeran to be the next duo to break the internet, but here we are.
