“Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla” Will Arrive on 17 November

The new game will have almost no side quests.

If you have been waiting patiently impatiently for the next Assassin's Creed game, you'll be pleased to know it finally has a release date.

As part of the Ubisoft Forward livestream, Ubisoft announced Assassin's Creed: Valhalla will land on Tuesday 17 November for PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia and Xbox One. The release date had previously leaked on Saturday, but now it's officially confirmed.

Before confirming the release date, Ubisoft gave us a look at the actual gameplay. If you haven't seen it, check it out below.

From watching the walkthrough, it looks like you will get settled in England, and then you'll venture out to find Anglo-Saxon settlements to raid for supplies. You can assume the role of a male or female incarnation of Eivor, a Viking raider and the head of a clan in the Viking Age.

The game undoubtedly has a tough act to follow, considering its predecessor Assassin's Creed: Odyssey is thought to be one of the best games in the entire franchise.

Assassin's Creed: Valhalla will also be available to play on PS5 and Xbox Series X, but the release dates for those consoles haven't been revealed yet.

Some players have been excited to find out that the new game will have almost no side quests to complete. While the Assassin's Creed games have traditionally included a bunch of side quests, they're not going to feature too much in the upcoming game.

Narrative director Darby McDevitt told GameSpot that "world events" are included in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, but the traditional side quests are "almost non-existent".

You can pre-order Assassin's Creed: Valhalla from EB Games for PS4 and Xbox One. The Drakkar Edition will cost you $99.95, while you'll have to fork out $169.95 for the Ultimate Edition. Otherwise, you can also pre-order the game from JB Hi-Fi.

Now, start counting down the days!
