Zero "Endgame" in Sight: There Will Be Eight More Marvel Flicks by 2022

Just when you thought the Marvel Cinematic Universe was taking a backseat for a while.

As the title suggested, Avengers: Endgame was supposed to mark the end of an era for some of our favourite Marvel superheroes, and it certainly delivered.

But, if you think that would also spell the end of the onslaught of Marvel superhero installments, you were sorely mistaken.

While we've been hearing talks about Marvel's two-decade-long superhero schedule for a while, Disney has finally dropped their draft movie release schedule to confirm it. The schedule is packed with (what seems like) a neverending stream of Avatar sequels, Star Wars flicks and live-action remakes of beloved Disney animations. But, snuck in between them all is eight untitled releases in the Marvel series.

So, 'what could these untitled Marvel installments possibly be?' you might ask. Well, they're likely a part of the post-Avengers storylines, focusing instead on a new band called The Eternals. We've actually already met one of them, Thanos, and we all know how that ended.

There have already been whispers that Angelina Jolie will be assuming the role of the main character, Sersi (not Lannister), and Richard Madden (R.I.P. Robb Stark) could face alongside her as Ikaris.

With the first untitled title scheduled for a May 2020 release, we'll find out soon enough who will be the new face of superherodom in the MCU.

Aside from the neverending story that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we'll also see Avatar 2 by 2021 (in fact, four sequels by 2027) and nine Disney live-action releases by 2023.

It also appears that we're getting a new Star Wars trilogy starting at the end of 2022 so the futures looking bright for us young Padawans.
