Will Smith Is Producing A "Fresh Prince Of Bel Air" Reboot

Will Smith is going back to the well. Sorry, I mean, Bel.

According to TVLine, Smith’s production company Overbrook Entertainment is developing a modern reboot of his '90s family sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

Sadly, don’t expect Smith in the Uncle Phil role. He’ll only act as a producer. Does this mean superkids Jaden or Willow could take on the lead this time around? Probably!

TVLine tempers our expectations by warning that this is in the very early stages of development, and that the official premise is still being “hammered out.”

Still, the finalised pitch is expected to be shopped around in the coming weeks, so we may know sooner rather than later if anyone wants to make Fresh Prince 2.0.

We’d add in a reference to the immortal theme song, but we kind of already did that once before.
