You Better Believe Jodie Whittaker’s Coming Back for "Doctor Who" in 2020

The Doctor is (back) in.

It’s that time of year where we reflect on what we’re most thankful for, and in 2018, that's 'Jodie Whittaker'.

Not only did Whittaker withstand a torrent of MRA nonsense after being selected as the first female star of Doctor Who, she helped defy the manbabies further by getting some of the show’s best ever reviews and helping deliver its biggest ever ratings.

According to Variety, the BBC recognise they’re onto a good thing, and have confirmed their thirteenth Doctor will return for a new season in 2020.

Twitter had the appropriate response:

Jodie Whitaker is a perfect portrayal of the doctor and i’m so glad we get the pleasure of seeing her as the doctor

Cue the other GIF:

The only sad part, of course, is that 2020 isn’t next year. You’ll have to wait at least 12 months for the new season. The good news, however, is that there’ll still be a Christmas special in 2019. And even before then, there’ll be a New Year’s Day special next month titled "Resolution".

If only there was some kind of, I dunno, TARDIS we could use to cross that gap faster.
