Who’s Predicted to Win Triple J’s "Hottest 100" of 2020?

Voting has officially closed.

Well, it’s that time of year again. If you somehow forgot about the Hottest 100 countdown for 2020, too bad so sad ‘cos the voting officially closed on Monday afternoon.

With the voting formally done, now’s the time to speculate on who has made it on that list and who we reckon is going to grab the top spot.

Thankfully, we don’t have to completely rely on our guesses ‘cos as usual, vote aggregator Warm Tunas, has the tea.

While it's not 100 per cent accurate, Warm Tunas does a pretty decent job at picking the results. They predicted the winners for both 2017 and 2018 and are not bad at guessing the songs that edge closer to the top.

According to their list, not only does 2020 feature a lot more smaller artists than previous years, but this is shaping up to be one of the closest Hottest 100 countdowns yet.

With no more than 181 votes separating tracks No.1 and No.2 on Tuesday, this year is set to be a real toss up.

We’ll have to wait and see if it breaks 2007’s record when Muse beat out Silverchair by just 14 votes.

So far, "Heat Waves" by Glass Animals is expected to claim victory with 17 per cent of the vote, closely followed behind Ball Park Music’s "Cherub" and then Spacey Jane’s "Booster Seat".

When Warm Tunas' predictions started last month, Spacey Jane held on to the top position for a good long while, with Glass Animals and Eves Karydas’ "Complicated" just behind.

The suspected list also features some unusual but top tier favourites including "Get On The Beers (Ft. Dan Andrews)" by Mashd N Kutcher, Cardi B’s "WAP" and Polaris’ "Black Fingernails, Red Wine (triple j Like A Version)".
