Want to Hate Coffee? Try San Fran’s Rat Café (a Café Full of Rats)

Rattucino, anyone?

Don’t tell us: Whenever you’re enjoying a warm cup of joe, or perhaps sipping on a calming chamomile, you’re thinking to yourself, “This is great and all, but I kinda wish I could feel rats scurrying around my feet.”

Maybe you can’t fully relax with a warm drink unless you know a bunch of rats had been in the kitchen too, rummaging through your coffee beans or tea leaves.

If this is indeed the case, San Francisco’s pop-up Rat Café is the coffee place you’ve been waiting for.

The San Francisco Dungeon, an immersive theatre that combines history lessons with rides and re-enactments, is opening the pop-up Rat Café for just two days this coming July.

There’s not a whole lot to it: You go, drink coffee, maybe eat a pastry too, and be surrounded by a bunch of live rats. Why? No more questions.

The limited experience starts at $US49.99 per person, but you can drink all the coffee you want.

And if you really love it, you can even adopt the rats from their non-profit rat rehab, Rattie Ratz. (Unfortunately, you can’t transport rats back to Australia. Don’t do as Johnny Depp does.)
