When The War Is Over: Nicki Minaj And Taylor Swift Just Opened The VMAs, Together

Our long international nightmare is ended.

Nicki Minaj opened up the 2015 VMA awards this morning with a performance of "Trini Dem Girls" and "The Night Is Still Young", despite having expressed her disappointment over being snubbed by MTV in the Best Video category back and July.

And lo and behold, Taylor Swift, the popular recording artist you may or may not have heard of, joined Nicki at the end for a brief rendition of "Bad Blood."

Again, this despite Swift having seemingly been the target of Nicki's criticism that MTV only appreciates a certain type of female artist. (Specifically, those with "very slim bodies.")

How is Katy Perry going to even deal with this? How are any of us supposed to deal with this?

Yes, you are allowed to think that the original Twitter spray - celebrated at the time for opening up the conversation about the white-washing of the music industry and the struggles of black artists - was simply a convenient marketing gimmick for the awards ceremony.

You are also allowed to enjoy watching Taylor and Nicki performing together in pretty fierce outfits (and having a great time while doing it).
